These terms cover your use of the NovelTL website and browser extension. By creating an account you agree to them.
What NovelTL is
NovelTL is a personal translation tool. It translates chapter pages you open in your own browser and shows the result only to you. It does not host, publish or distribute novels or translations.
Your use
- Use NovelTL for your own reading. Don't publish, share or sell translations it produces.
- Only translate chapters you are allowed to read: free chapters, or paid chapters you have bought or subscribed to on the original site. NovelTL never unlocks paid chapters, and you agree not to use it to get around a site's paywall.
- Don't abuse the service, for example by automating requests, reverse engineering the API or sharing an account.
- You must be at least 13 years old.
Credits and payments
- One credit translates one chapter; long chapters use two. New accounts get 5 free credits once.
- Credit packs and signup credits don't expire while your account exists. Monthly plan credits reset each billing period: unused plan credits don't roll over, and they end when the plan ends. Plan credits are used before pack credits.
- If a translation fails, the credit is returned automatically.
- Purchases are generally non-refundable once credits are used. If something went wrong, email hello@noveltl.app within 14 days and we'll make it right.
- You can cancel a monthly plan at any time from your account page. It stops renewing at the end of the current period.
- Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred.
Translation quality
Translations are produced by AI models and may contain mistakes. The service is provided as is, without warranties of accuracy or availability, to the extent the law allows.
Rights holders
Novels remain the property of their authors and publishers. If you are a rights holder and want NovelTL to stop translating a novel, see takedown requests.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. Unused paid credits on an account we suspend for reasons other than a breach of these terms will be refunded.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell signed-in users before it takes effect.
